Crazy reasons to believe

It is very easy and convenient to believe when the weather is friendly, relationships bloom, love is at its peak, there is a promotion, when we get lucky, when you get the girl, when your man commits, when your partner is faithful, when you get a bank credit alert, when you see visions, hear crystal clear from God, when you have it all figured out, when you have a testimony, when people appreciate, admire and adore you, when you get credit for work done, acknowledgement from someone you respect, helped or expected it from, just to mention a few.

But there are other times when the going gets tough, hopes are dashed, expectations unmet, trust betrayed, heart is broken. Times you don’t even know what’s next, when you feel defeated, hopeless, useless and helpless, when every other person has it all together. When everything that can goes wrong, when people we value leave, God seems distant, angry or even nowhere in sight. Times when you are broke, rejected, bankrupt, hungry; when you question your beliefs, values, life, actions, plans and everyone. Times when you can’t exactly explain what went wrong, what triggered it or the part you played in it.

I want to let you know that you are not crazy, the struggle is real, things and times like these happen to ALL PEOPLE at different times.

In your crazy time, here are crazy reasons to still believe:

1.  At every time, second, minute, month, year or season EVERYONE WITHOUT EXCEPTION is going through something. ‘For we each have our own load to carry’ – Galatians 6:5 (GNB). The reason you think some people are not going through stuff might be that they are not carrying it on their heads, looking it or announcing it but are hiding it, coping or dealing with it. The people you know their problems tell you, let you see it, announce it or look it. Both categories have Problems.

2.  Everyone is going through something someone has gone through. Something could be anything, in this case whatever it is, is not palatable. How do I know – ‘the temptations in your life are no different from what others experience’ (Corinthians 10:13a, NLT)

3. Even if you don’t see God in it or around you, I’m certain that you are more than able to stand through it all, come through victoriously despite the challenge, situation and problem and God is still for you– ‘God is faithful, He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure’ (1 Corinthians 10:13b, NLT)

4. Your response to and attitude in your problem, challenge and situation CAN WORK FOR OR AGAINST YOU. Thankfully you are in charge of your attitude but it will take conscious and continuous efforts from you to keep your attitude positive in the not just or so good times, and YOU CAN. Please, Biko, Abeg ‘don’t give in to worry or anger; it only leads to trouble’ – Psalms 37:8 (GNB)

In this crazy time, still crazily believe. Hold on, it will soon be in your past!

  1. *[[Act 26:24-25)
    * While Paul was making this defence, Festus called out loudly, “You are mad, Paul; your great learning is driving you mad.”*
“I am not mad, your Excellency,” he replied; “on the contrary, the statements that I am making are true and sober”.

Well done unique peace for this “crazy stuff”, which is actually the remedy for our current malady. It is both timely & timeless, and should ever remain in our timeline.
